Mysuru: Mangaluru Railway Area, which was part of Palakkad Division, was formally transferred to Mysuru Division with effect from Thursday midnight. Additional Divisional Railway Manager of Mysuru division, Shammas Hameed, reviewed the arrangements and took necessary measures to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted railway operations.Hameed, along with other branch officers of Mysuru Division, visited key railway locations in the Mangaluru area, including Mangaluru Central, Mangaluru Junction, Panambur and Jokatte, and inspected the operational arrangements and facilities.The officers interacted with railway staff and reviewed their requirements to ensure that adequate manpower, resources and other essential facilities are made available for the smooth functioning of railway operations.During the visits, emphasis was placed on effective coordination among various departments, staff readiness, train operations, safety arrangements, maintenance activities and passenger-related services. Necessary instructions were issued to the concerned officials to address operational requirements promptly and maintain seamless coordination between field units and the Divisional Office.The integration of the Mangaluru Railway Area with Mysuru Division marks an important administrative and operational development. The Mysuru Division has put in place the necessary arrangements to ensure that train operations, maintenance activities, safety measures and other railway services continue smoothly without disruption under the new jurisdiction.The Divisional Administration, along with branch officers and field staff, is closely coordinating with personnel at various locations to ensure a seamless transition and efficient railway operations in the newly integrated area, as stated in a press release.
