PUNE: The father of murder accused Siya Goyal on Thursday said he was unwell and had been advised complete rest by doctors, declining to comment on the ongoing investigation into the death of his daughter’s fiancé, Ketan Agarwal.Speaking to ANI, Praveen Goyal said police had visited his residence earlier in the day but he did not interact with them.“The police had come to the house today but I did not meet anyone. They did their work and were here for around 30-45 minutes. The doctor has advised me to take rest. My health is down. I do not want to speak about this case. I do not have the strength for it. The police did not ask me anything,” he said.Praveen Goyal had earlier been admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune amid the fallout from the high-profile murder case.The development comes as Pune Rural Police continue to investigate the alleged murder of 26-year-old realtor Ketan Agarwal, who died after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort on June 18.Siya Goyal (20), Ketan’s fiancée, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary (22), have been arrested for allegedly conspiring to murder him.On Monday, a court remanded both accused to police custody till July 3 after investigators sought more time to probe the case. Police told the court they were examining several aspects of the investigation, including the exact crime scene, alleged reconnaissance visits to Lohagad Fort and the whereabouts of Agarwal’s missing passport.Investigators have also alleged that Goyal gave a pre-decided signal to Chaudhary before Agarwal was pushed into the gorge. Police claim Chaudhary travelled to Lohagad Fort on a scooter instead of a car to avoid toll plaza records and that the two had allegedly conducted rehearsals before carrying out the crime.The Maharashtra government has approved a fast-track trial in the case and appointed senior advocate and Rajya Sabha MP Ujjwal Nikam as the special public prosecutor after Agarwal’s family sought a speedy investigation and trial.The investigation is ongoing.(With inputs from ANI)
