Rajkot: The brutal murder of Jatin Adesara triggered shock and outrage among the jewellers and trading community in Morbi as well as Rajkot who dashed off a letter of concern to deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi.Traders in Morbi kept their shops closed on Friday to protest against the incident.Praful Adesara, a prominent jeweller from Morbi, said, “We strongly condemn the murder of a trader over a minor dispute about giving way. This is unacceptable. Jewellers and other traders kept establishments shut until noon in Morbi’s main markets to express their anger.”The Gems and Jewellery Association of Rajkot also staged a protest and wrote to deputy chief minister Harsh Sanghavi, stating that the incident had triggered anger and concern across the state.“The killing of Jatinbhai following a minor altercation on a public road is deeply tragic and disturbing. Such a grave incident occurring in the open has created an atmosphere of fear among ordinary citizens. We demand that law and order be strengthened and that a swift, transparent and impartial investigation be conducted,” the letter stated.Mayur Adesara, president of the association, said, “We urge the authorities to take immediate and strict action against all those involved, ensuring that the guilty receive the harshest punishment.”In their representation to Sanghavi, the jewellers further stated, “This is not merely a concern for one family but a matter of safety for everyone using public roads. We request prompt and exemplary action with concrete results in this case.”
