Varanasi: Karimuddinpur police team in Ghazipur district arrested a man accused of attempt to murder and kidnapping after an encounter on Monday night. In exchange of fire with police, he was injured and sent to hospital for treatment.After arresting Vishal Yadav, 25, resident of Ramanand Ka Pura village, police recovered an illegal country-made pistol of .315 bore, one spent and one live cartridge from him.The police team led by inspector in charge Rajnarayan was on night patrol when they received information about Yadav’s movement.Acting on the information, police laid a cordon near Newada village. During the operation, Yadav opened fire at the police team and when police fired back, he was injured in the leg and was sent to CHC Barachawar for medical treatment. His accomplice escaped.
