Vadodara: The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) busted a gang allegedly involved in 17 burglaries across the city and arrested three persons while detaining a minor boy on Tuesday. All four accused are residents of Vadodara. The accused were identified as Rohit Bavri, Karnalsingh Taunk, Badalsingh Bavri and a minor boy.Acting on a tip-off that the gang was spotted near Darjipura, a DCB team reached the area. The accused allegedly tried to flee on seeing the police but were intercepted and apprehended. Police also seized a motorcycle from them.According to police, the gang would ride around residential areas late at night, conduct reconnaissance to identify locked houses and subsequently target them for burglary. During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to committing burglaries in Nandesari, Bapod, Chhani, Fatehgunj, Sama, Gorwa, Akota and Kapurai areas.Police recovered gold jewellery worth around Rs 8 lakh from the accused. Investigators said the gang had also allegedly committed several burglaries in Surat and further investigation is underway to establish their involvement in other cases.
