Mangaluru: Police have taken a 22-year-old accused into custody in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old woman near the KSRTC New Bus Stand at BC Road in Bantwal on July 16.The accused, Chethan, a resident of Odinala in Belthangady, allegedly attacked and killed Lavanya, a resident of Uli village in Bantwal taluk. He had allegedly consumed rat poison before being arrested, and was subsequently admitted to Wenlock District Hospital for treatment.Chethan was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, and taken into custody by Bantwal Town police. He was produced before a court, which remanded him in police custody for four days for questioning.
