Chandrapur: Calling Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve a ‘gift of nature’, ex-forest minister and BJP MLA Sudhir Mungantiwar on Saturday outlined an ambitious plan to develop Agarzari and Moharli into model eco-villages, while pitching for Tadoba’s inclusion among international tourism destinations. The announcement coincided with inauguration of the newly beautified Padmapur entrance gate, a key access point to the reserve. Mungantiwar said the initiative is part of a broader push to upgrade tourism infra, improve road connectivity, and generate livelihoods for local communities dependent on forest economy.A 1.85 crore roadside beautification project in Agarzari has been completed, aimed at enhancing visitor experience. The stretch, passing through dense forest, is expected to offer improved opportunities for wildlife sightings, including leopards, birds and butterflies. Emphasising a five-year roadmap, Mungantiwar said Agarzari and Moharli would be developed into benchmark eco-villages that balance conservation with tourism-led growth.
