Police quickly apprehended the accused, Magar, who has been placed in custody

MUMBAI: A 24-year-old woman died after allegedly consuming a soft drink laced with poison, which police suspect was given to her by her boyfriend over suspicion that she was in a relationship with another man.The incident occurred at RCF village in Chembur. Police said the woman, identified as Vishnumaya, was found unconscious in her room and rushed to a hospital by her family.She later died during treatment. The incident came to light on Aug 25-26, when Vishnumaya died under suspicious circumstances at Bungalow No. 57-A in Mysore Colony.Police said her boyfriend, Ashish Magar, initially attempted to mislead investigators and portray the death as natural.However, during the investigation, RCF police questioned people connected with the case and examined circumstantial evidence.Police allegedly found that Magar had given Vishnumaya a Thums Up containing a poisonous substance. Magar was arrested and remanded to five-day police custody.Further investigation is underway.
