MUMBAI: Hours after he reportedly caught his wife and his cousin in a compromising position at his home, a Govandi man was allegedly stabbed by them on Sunday. Police filed an FIR against the duo for attempt to murder. The man, who sustained injuries to the right hand and the left thigh, was being treated at Sion hospital.Police said the 38-year-old labourer returned home to collect a key and found his front door bolted from inside and an unfamiliar pair of slippers outside. He then allegedly saw his wife and his maternal uncle’s son, who lived nearby, indulging in a sexual act. After being confronted, the cousin fled. Police said later that night, the wife called the labourer and his cousin for talks. At the house, an argument broke out and the cousin allegedly pulled out a knife and tried to stab the man in the chest. He dodged but took the blow to the right hand, which severed his thumb and slashed the other fingers. The wife then allegedly stabbed his left thigh. The victim managed to escape. He was taken to a dispensary and later shifted to Sion hospital. -Meghna Rewachand
