Mumbai: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the food licence of a Swiggy Instamart dark store in Ballard Estate after finding live rodents and cockroaches in food-handling areas, rodent-droppings in storage areas and rice bags gnawed open, with grains spilled on contaminated floors.The facility, operated by Swinsta ENT Pvt Ltd, also had an unclean, functioning toilet adjacent to the food storage area, posing risks of pathogen transmission. The action came days after the FDA found similar hygiene violations at Olympia Coffee House in Colaba.The FDA also suspended the licence of an Amazon warehouse and dark store in Kandivli (East), operated by Acculogicx Supply Chain Solutions, citing wastewater stagnation, poor segregation of food and non-food items, chemicals stored near food packaging and missing temperature logs.Licences of Suleman Usman Mithaiwala on Mohammed Ali Road, Nice Enterprises in Chembur, Jain Sweet & Bhelpuri House in Kandivli (West), Go Green Food Hospitality in Ghatkopar (East), Swad Snacks Corner in Lalbaug and Parel, and Lucknowi Kebab and Zaika Moradabadi Hotel in Versova were also suspended over hygiene violations.
