Mumbai: Two people were arrested by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) with 323 gm of heroin worth Rs 64.6 lakh from Versova. The Kandivli unit of the ANC made the arrests late on Friday.Police said they acted on information and laid a trap for the accused. The seized narcotics had been brought for sale in Versova, police said. Besides the narcotics, police seized an electronic weighing scale, a sack bag, a mixing container, a halogen bulb, and two cellphones from the accused.In a separate case, one person was arrested from a chawl in Pydhonie by the ANC with 157 bottles of cough syrup mixed with codeine phosphate, worth Rs 3.6 lakh. The action was undertaken by the Azad Maidan unit of the ANC on Thursday. Police said they had received information about the accused trafficking the narcotic in Pydhonie over the past few days.Two separate FIRs have been registered against the accused persons under the NDPS Act.
