Gaya: The Magadh University Senate would meet on Aug 22 to discuss the university budget for financial year 2026-27. According to registrar Binod Kumar Mangalam, permission has been sought from the chancellor’s office to hold the senate meetingOfficials said officiating vice-chancellor Dilip Kumar Keshari is required to seek permission from governor-cum-chancellor Syed Ata Hasnain before taking any important decision.Conceding that the budget passage has been delayed as the financial year began on April 1, the registrar said the delay in the budget passage is not going to make any material difference as the advanced copy of the budget has been sent to the higher education department.Asked about the number of vacant positions in the university, the registrar said the vacancy position has been sought from colleges and once the report was available it will be forwarded to the competent authority.Meanwhile, the university employees have not been paid their salaries for June and July. The pensioners too have not received pension for the two months.
