Mumbai: After withholding the results of students who did not have an APAAR ID—a 12-digit student identification number—for two years, Mumbai University (MU) has this year made it a mandatory requirement for generation of exam hall tickets.Students whose IDs are not linked with MU’s portal will not be issued hall tickets for exams in Oct. Students have to provide their IDs while filling exam forms.The administration issued a list of 11,000 students who are yet to be linked despite multiple camps held in colleges. The list has been shared with their respective institutions. The university has directed principals, directors and heads of departments of affiliated colleges to ensure that all students complete the linking process before submitting exam forms.MU had previously issued circulars and organised a special camp to help students create and link their IDs.APAAR ID (automated permanent academic account registry) and registration with the academic bank of credits is a mandatory requirement under National Education Policy for digital storage of marksheets, transfer and verification of academic credits.
