Vadodara: The Faculty of Commerce at Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) has introduced colour-coded identity cards for students, assigning different colours to students from various buildings to facilitate easy identification on campus.The initiative was rolled out during the orientation programme for first-year BCom (Honours) students. Under the new system, students of the main building have been issued brown ID cards, those studying in the unit building have received blue cards while students of the girls college have been given pink identity cards. Faculty officials said the move would help in the quick identification of students and improve administrative convenience.The third day of the orientation programme which was held on Saturday focused on academic and administrative guidance for freshers. Students were introduced to allied subjects such as Statistics, English and Banking and briefed on their academic relevance, career prospects and practical applications.Faculty members also explained the complete syllabus and line-by-line coverage of the subjects to help students plan their studies from the beginning of the academic session.The identity cards contain essential academic and administrative information that will help students avail themselves of university facilities and complete admission- and examination-related procedures more efficiently, officials said.
