Nagpur: Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) is set to launch non-stop, conductorless air-conditioned e-bus services on Nagpur-Chandrapur and Nagpur-Wardha routes from October 1, offering passengers faster intercity travel with a total of 84 trips scheduled daily on the two routes.The 12-metre air-conditioned e-buses will operate at a fare of Rs380 for Nagpur-Chandrapur and Rs220 for Nagpur-Wardha, according to MSRTC. The services are aimed at reducing travel time while providing passengers with a comfortable journey.On the Nagpur-Chandrapur route, the corporation will operate 26 trips and an equal number in the return direction, taking the total to 52 trips daily. The first bus from Nagpur will depart at 6.30am, while the last departure is scheduled at 7.45pm. From Chandrapur, the first bus will leave at 6.15am and the last at 7pm.The Nagpur-Wardha route will have 16 trips from Nagpur to Wardha and an equal number from Wardha to Nagpur, resulting in 32 trips daily. Buses from Nagpur will operate between 7.15am and 6.15pm, while services from Wardha will run between 7.15am and 6.15pm.The corporation said passengers travelling on the new services would be eligible for concessions applicable to senior citizens, Amrut senior citizens and the Mahila Samman Yojana. Other concessions applicable to MSRTC’s 12-metre e-Shivai buses will also be available on the new services.The non-stop services are expected to help passengers save travel time as the buses will not make intermediate stops. MSRTC said the introduction of the services would also provide a more comfortable travel option between Nagpur and the two neighbouring cities.The launch is part of Nagpur division’s expansion of electric bus services on intercity routes. The corporation has appealed to passengers to make maximum use of the new 12-metre air-conditioned e-bus services.MSRTC stated that the services would commence from October 1. With multiple departures spread across the day, passengers will have several options for travelling between Nagpur and Chandrapur as well as Nagpur and Wardha.
