Senior inspector Maruti Patil of the Yevalewadi police said, “The bus was going from Mangalvedha towards Pune city. There were about 20 passengers in the bus.”He said, “The bus driver informed us that the vehicle’s brakes did not engage because of overheating. We have seized the bus. The RTO officials will inspect it to ascertain how the accident occurred.”The bus hit a car, an autorickshaw and two motorcycles. Patil said, “Deceased More, his two sons and his wife were travelling on the motorcycle. More died and his son fractured legs. Their motorcycle was found under the bus. They were returning towards Pune from the Sawad side when the bus hit their motorcycle from behind.”He said, “The bus driver lost control of the wheel after hitting the motorcycle and went on to hit three other vehicles. An autorickshaw driver also suffered injuries to his legs in the accident.”The injured people were taken to different nearby hospitals. More passed away in the early hours of Sunday.
