Three traffic police officers were killed and three others injured in a gun attack in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Monday, the Associated Press cited police.The attack took place in Wazirabad Bazaar in Tank district when suspected militants on motorcycles opened fire on a vehicle carrying the traffic police.The attackers fled the area after the shooting, local police official Jamshed Khan said.No group has claimed responsibility for the latest attack. Police are likely to suspect the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which has carried out several attacks in the region. The TTP is a separate group from Afghanistan’s Taliban but is allied with it.The attack on police officials came two days after ‘fidayeen’ bomb blast in Dera Ismail Khan city in the same province. The suicide bombing killed at least 13 people and wounded over 30 others.Gunmen also opened fire on an ambulance that arrived at the scene. The TTP claimed responsibility for that attack.Pakistan has repeatedly accused Afghanistan’s Taliban government of allowing TTP militants to operate from Afghan territory and carry out attacks in Pakistan.Kabul has denied the allegations and said it does not allow its territory to be used against other countries.
