Prayagraj: The ashes of Shanti Devi Vora, 91, wife of former Uttar Pradesh governor and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Moti Lal Vora, were immersed at the Sangam on Tuesday amid Vedic chants and traditional Hindu rituals. Shanti Devi passed away on July 13.Her son, former Chhattisgarh minister Arun Vora, arrived at the Sangam around noon with family members, carrying the urn from Chhattisgarh’s Durg district. Several Congress netas and workers also gathered at the site and paid floral tributes before the immersion ceremony.The rituals were performed by Pt Sushil Gaur.Family members, relatives and Congress functionaries participated in the ceremony, which was conducted in accordance with Hindu customs.
