Pune: A 19-year-old youth and his mother allegedly abused a woman traffic constable after she confronted them for driving on the wrong side of the road.The incident occurred at Dehu Phata Chowk in Alandi on Wednesday afternoon. A 35-year-old traffic constable lodged a complaint.Dighi police charged the duo under sections 221 (obstructing a public servant in discharge of public functions), 296 (obscene acts and songs), 351 (criminal intimidation) and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.An officer from Dighi police said the complainant was posted at Dehu Phata Chowk to take action against traffic violations. “Around 11.30am, she noticed a youth and a woman coming from the wrong side of the road. The constable stopped them and asked why they were driving on the wrong side.
