Ranchi: Jharkhand govt will develop state-of-the-art mother and child hospitals across the districts to provide safe deliveries, specialised neonatal care, expert medical services for women, and modern medical equipment, health minister Irfan Ansari said on Saturday.Speaking at an event to observe World Population Day at a city hotel, Ansari said, “Mother and child hospitals will lead to a significant reduction in maternal and infant mortality rates and ensure that women receive superior healthcare services within their own districts. The safety of pregnant women and newborns remains the top priority for the state govt.”Ansari said that population should be viewed as an asset and human resource available to the state and nation instead of as a number or a burden.“Jharkhand is a young state, with a large chunk of its population under the age of 35. This presents a golden opportunity rather than a challenge. If the youth are provided with better education, technical training, modern healthcare facilities, and employment, Jharkhand will emerge as one of the country’s leading states,” he said.Ansari further said family welfare extends far beyond the scope of population control, and its true objective is to ensure every family becomes healthy, educated, secure, and prosperous.
