Nagpur: Amid rising tiger movement and attacks around Pench, minister of state Ashish Jaiswal on Monday directed authorities to immediately install protective fencing in vulnerable areas.Chairing a review meeting at Sillari in Ramtek, he also instructed officials to develop green zones where needed and deploy dedicated mobile and medical units for rapid response to emergencies.Jaiswal said a high-level meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis would be convened soon to finalise measures to tackle the human-wildlife conflict. He added that a toll-free helpline would be launched to help residents report incidents and seek assistance.AI-enabled cameras have already been installed in select villages, and officials were asked to expand the network. Jaiswal assured residents living along forest fringes that their safety remains a priority and that immediate steps would be taken to strengthen protection.The meeting also included discussions with the Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra. Authorities were directed not to undertake any fresh tree felling or plantation work at this stage.
