Nagpur: Renowned Nagpur-based chef Vishnu Manohar advocated a global shift towards mindful eating and holistic wellness, sounding the clarion call for ‘aahar kranti’ (dietary revolution) during an event held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, recently. The initiative blended culinary art with cultural expression, drawing major participation from both the Indian diaspora and foreign nationals.Manohar was a key participant at the ‘Taste of Ayurveda‘ festival, organised by Omgram Ayurveda and conceptualised by Aparna Joshi. The event focused on promoting the scientific relevance of Indian dietary traditions, particularly the principles of Ayurveda and Sattvic living.Addressing the gathering, Manohar underlined the deep connection between food, health and mental wellbeing. “Ayurveda and a Sattvic diet are among the greatest gifts of Indian culture. What we consume directly influences our thoughts and health. If we treat food as ‘Anna he Purnabrahma’ and consume it as medicine, a disease-free life is achievable,” he said. The chef’s live cooking sessions, featuring Sattvic dishes rich in traditional Indian spices, received an enthusiastic response. Attendees were introduced to the nutritional and medicinal value of everyday ingredients, with many appreciating simplicity and depth of Indian culinary philosophy.
