Ranchi: With the draft electoral roll published on Wednesday following the enumeration phase under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the Election Commission opened a month-long claims and objections window, enabling voters to ensure their names and other details are correctly recorded before the final rolls are published on Oct 7.Jharkhand chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar urged electors to check whether their names appear in the draft rolls or the ASDD (absent, shifted, dead or duplicate) list.Electors can access the draft rolls online through the ECINET mobile app and the voters.eci.gov.in and ceojharkhand.nic.in websites. They need to select their district, assembly constituency and polling station before downloading the list. Printed copies of the draft rolls and ASDD list will also be available at polling stations, panchayat offices in rural areas and urban local body offices in cities.Electors can additionally access the draft rolls from BLA-2 representatives of recognised political parties.The claims and objections window will remain open from Aug 5 to Sept 4. During this period, new voters seeking inclusion in the final electoral roll must fill out Form 6 along with the declaration form and submit these to their respective booth-level officers. Applications can also be filed online through the ECINET app.“Similarly, overseas voters have to fill up Form 6A and the declaration form for inclusion in the final roll. For inclusion or deletion of names in the existing or final electoral roll, voters have to fill up Form 7. For shifting residence and making other corrections to entries in the existing electoral roll, voters have to fill up Form 8 along with the declaration form,” the CEO’s office said in a statement.A total of 81 electoral registration officers (EROs) and 428 additional EROs have been deployed to scrutinise the claims and objections by Oct 3.
