Bengaluru: “Style” shouldn’t come at the cost of someone else’s peace of mind. Taking a strict stand against noise pollution, HAL Airport traffic police have warned motorists using modified exhausts of severe action.As part of the crackdown, police Saturday caught a biker riding with a defective silencer and imposed a Rs 500 fine on him. The rider had reportedly been captured by a member of the public while riding in Vignananagar on Aug 18. Acting on the X post, HAL traffic police traced the biker and initiated action against him.During questioning, the rider, who works at a market in HAL, reportedly told police that he had purchased the bike from another person a few months ago. He claimed that the previous owner had modified the silencer.Police said they would continue their drive against modified exhausts and defective silencers.
