Two seats at the college are reserved for students from the northeastern state

Daltonganj: Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH) will admit two students from Meghalaya to its MBBS course for the 2026-27 academic session under the central nominee quota, principal Dr Jakka Srinivas Rao said on Monday.Under National Medical Commission norms, two seats at the college are reserved for students from the northeastern state. These are separate from the 15 seats allotted under the all-India quota. The govt medical college, which has an annual intake of 100 MBBS students, has followed the arrangement since its inception.Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), New Delhi, has extended the deadline for first-year MBBS admissions to Sept 5. Rao said the revised deadline would also apply to admissions at MMCH.
