Bandipora, Oct 07: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Bandipora Nizam Uddin Bhat on Wednesday visited HKM Government Degree College Bandipora to review the institution’s developmental needs, infrastructure and student-related issues.
During the visit, the MLA reviewed ongoing development works worth approximately ₹18 crore at the college and interacted with the administration, faculty and students regarding further strengthening of the institution.
In his welcome address, the Principal of HKM GDC Bandipora highlighted various infrastructural and developmental requirements and sought support for addressing issues concerning the college.
Taking note of the requirements, the MLA assured that approximately ₹1 crore would be earmarked under the District CAPEX Budget for the next financial year for construction of a Girls’ Rest Room at the college.
He also assured the release of ₹30 lakh from his MLA Constituency Development Fund for the purchase of a college bus to address transportation and accessibility requirements of students.
Several other issues were also discussed, including the status of the already allotted Library Block and the proposal for sanctioning an Auditorium Block. Matters related to accessibility and student scholarships were also taken up during the interaction.
