Aizawl: The Mizo Diaspora Cell in the CMO’s office has issued an urgent advisory to Mizos in West Asia, urging them to stay calm, safeguard travel documents and reach out to Indian missions or its own helpline for assistance, following widespread airspace closures that have disrupted international flight operations.Several countries — including Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, the UAE and Qatar — have suspended air links until March 2, following NOTAMs (airspace closure notices). The disruption has stranded many travellers particularly in the UAE, including Dubai. The advisory urged residents to keep photocopies and soft copies of passports, visas and other essential documents, maintain written records of emergency contacts and register with the Mizo Diaspora Hub for smoother coordination with the Mizoram govt.Appealing for calm, the cell asked Mizos not to panic but to follow official instructions issued by local govts and stay updated with advisories from Indian missions. The statement was issued by Vanlaldina Fanai, chairman of the Mizo Diaspora Cell and secretary to the Mizoram CM.
