Madhubani: District magistrate Anand Sharma called for a comprehensive overhaul of the education system, pledging to equip govt schools with smart classrooms, digital libraries, modern laboratories and essential basic facilities under the initiative ‘Mission Kayakalp Madhubani’.Speaking as the chief guest at a function on Sunday organised by the Private Schools and Children Welfare Association, Sharma urged parents, teachers and the public to awaken educational awareness in every household and to inspire others so that schools truly become centres of learning.He stressed that ‘Mission Kayakalp Madhubani’ aims not merely to improve physical infrastructure but to create a conducive academic environment in which children can access modern technology and quality education. Schools are being classified into three categories according to their present condition and requirements. The first category covers institutions in a critical state of infrastructure, where priority is being given to building construction and essential structural works. The second focuses on schools lacking basic amenities such as adequate seating, drinking water, fans and toilets. The third category comprises schools with potential for advanced facilities, where smart classes, digital libraries, online teaching provisions and laboratories are to be developed.The DM underlined that lasting change cannot be achieved by administrative efforts alone. Active participation by teachers, parents, public representatives and every section of society is essential. He appealed to parents to cultivate an interest in learning among their children, ensure regular school attendance and monitor academic progress.Teachers, he said, are the architects of children’s future and they deserve reverence.
