Hisar: A 46-year-old mason who had been missing for several days was allegedly murdered by his son and buried in a vacant plot in Barwala to conceal the crime, police said on Sunday. The body of Kulwant, a resident of Ravidas Nagar, was recovered from a plot near a colony behind a gas agency on Daulatpur Road after police launched a probe into his disappearance.Police said Kulwant’s elder son, Rajesh, allegedly killed him during an argument on April 30 over dumping soil at an under-construction site. During the altercation, Rajesh allegedly struck his father on the head with a brick, leading to his death. He later dug a pit with a spade and buried the body in the same plot, police added. In her complaint, Kulwant’s wife Saroj Bala told police that her husband had left for work at a construction site near a gas agency on Bhaini Badshahpur Road on the morning of April 30. About an hour later, Rajesh also left for the same site. She said Rajesh later informed the family that Kulwant was missing, following which a missing person report was lodged.Saroj Bala alleged that when she repeatedly questioned Rajesh about his father’s disappearance, he eventually confessed to killing him after a quarrel broke out at the site.Acting on the information, Barwala police recovered the body from the plot and sent it for post-mortem examination. Further investigation is underway.
