Kanpur: The body of a 14-year-old girl, who went missing a few days ago from Nawabganj police station area, was found in a sack near Kali river. Police took the body into custody and sent it for postmortem.The girl’s family had lodged a missing case on March 30. According to the family, they became unconscious on Sunday night and, by next morning, the girl, along with jewellery and cash kept in the house, was missing. During investigation, the police spotted a sack on the banks of Kali river on Chhibramau road. On opening the sack, police recovered the girl’s body. SP Arun Kumar, circle officer Kaimganj Rakesh Dwivedi, station in-charge Nawabganj Rajeev Kumar and station in-charge Mohammadabad Vinod Kumar Shukla arrived at the spot along with a heavy police force. Further action will be decided on that basis of the postmortem report, said police. The girl’s parents said the girl was the eldest among three sisters and one brother.
