Wardha: A 30-year-old man from Arvi taluka was allegedly burnt alive using petrol, triggering tension in the town.The deceased has been identified as Shahrukh, a resident of Arvi. According to information, he had been missing for the past two days and a missing person complaint was registered at Arvi police station. Later, his burnt body was found in Pathrot area of Amravati district.

Preliminary information suggests that Shahrukh had a financial dispute and physical altercation with some persons two days ago. He went missing after that, sources said. Amravati police, with the help of the local crime branch, have taken six suspects into custody.Tension prevailed in Arvi city after Shahrukh’s body was brought. When people learnt that he was burnt alive, they gathered at Shivaji Chowk and staged protests. To prevent the situation from going out of control, additional police force has been deployed from across the district.
