MIRZAPUR: Three members of a family died after a speeding trailer truck rammed into their motorcycle from behind in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district on Tuesday morning, police said.As per news agency PTI, the accident occurred on the Chunar–Jamui road near Roshanhar village under the Ahraura police station limits. According to officials, the victims were on their way to Ghatampur to attend a ritual when the accident took place.The deceased have been identified as Anurag (19), Devwati (28), and her five-year-old son Anmol, all residents of Sonpur Ahirupur village. Police said the impact was so severe that all three died on the spot and the bodies were badly mutilated.The truck driver fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle after the crash. Senior police officials rushed to the spot upon receiving information, and further investigation is underway.The incident drew a large crowd of locals and family members at the site. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath took cognisance of the accident, expressed condolences to the bereaved family, and directed officials to expedite relief measures.(With agency inputs)
