Srinagar, February 23, : Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, today laid the foundation stone of Masjid Bilal at Shah Hamdan Colony, Habak, in the presence of local residents, ulema, and community members.

Congratulating the people for this noble initiative, Mirwaiz described the construction of a mosque as one of the greatest forms of Sadaqah Jariyah. He said laying its foundation during the blessed month of Ramzan carries special spiritual significance, as Ramzan is a month of mercy, forgiveness, and renewal. “Just as Ramzan rebuilds our inner selves, the construction of a mosque strengthens the spiritual foundations of a community,” he said.

Mirwaiz expressed happiness that the mosque design includes a designated space for women, noting that it encourages their participation in congregational prayers and religious learning in line with Islamic teachings.

He emphasized that mosques are not merely structures of brick and mortar but centers of guidance and unity, and prayed for the successful completion of the mosque and acceptance of all those contributing to this noble cause.
