Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the demise of the Valley’s distinguished religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Abdullah Tari and senior journalist, founder and Chief Editor of the daily Nida-e-Mashriq, Abdul Rashid Shah.

In his condolence message, the Mirwaiz paid rich tributes to the religious, scholarly, social, and intellectual contributions of both personalities. He said that these respected elders of Jammu and Kashmir served society with great sincerity, dedication, and commitment, rendering valuable services in their respective fields. Through their work and guidance, they played an important role in shaping public thought and contributing to the moral and social betterment of Kashmiri society.

The Mirwaiz said that the passing away of such respected and experienced personalities is a significant loss for the Valley, particularly at a time when society greatly needs the wisdom, scholarship, and balanced voice of senior figures.

Expressing heartfelt condolences and sympathies, the Mirwaiz conveyed his prayers and solidarity with the bereaved families, including the relatives and survivors of Molana Tari, as well as the sons of Abdul Rashid Shah — Haroon Rashid and Yasir Rashid — and the entire staff of Nida-e-Mashriq.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant patience and strength to the grieving families and to bless the departed souls with the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.
