Ranchi: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) rescued a 15-year-old girl from Ranchi railway station on Monday, officials said on Tuesday.An RPF patrolling team spotted the girl alone and in a distressed state on platform number 2/3. During questioning, she told the team that she was a resident of the Bermo area in Bokaro district and had left home without informing her parents. She also said she was looking for a job to support herself.After counselling her and completing the required legal formalities, the RPF handed her over to Childline.12kg marijuana seized at Ranchi railway stationRanchi: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested a man and seized 12kg of marijuana worth around Rs 6 lakh from Ranchi railway station on Monday under ‘Operation Narcos’, officials said on Tuesday.RPF personnel said that during an inspection on platform 1, they found a youth sitting with a bag under suspicious circumstances. On being questioned, he identified himself as Brijraj Yadav (19), a resident of Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh.Yadav allegedly told the RPF that he had been handed the consignment at Santala in Odisha and was instructed to take it to Gorakhpur.
