Patna: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped at a guest house in Patna district on Sunday after a man known to her allegedly lured her to the city on the promise of a govt job. Police have launched an investigation and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace and arrest the accused.According to Amrendra Kumar Jha, SDPO, Danapur-02, police received information about the incident around 2 pm and rushed to the guest house, where the alleged crime took place.The girl told police that she had met the accused while travelling on a bus. Posing as a senior govt official, he allegedly claimed he could secure govt jobs and later persuaded her to come to Patna with the promise of employment.According to her statement, she remained in contact with the accused on the phone for about a week before the incident. Police are verifying their communication records and the circumstances under which she was taken to the guest house.Following the incident, the minor was taken to AIIMS Patna for medical examination and treatment. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) also inspected the guest house and collected evidence.Jha said an SIT had been constituted to probe the case and ensure the accused’s arrest. Police teams are conducting raids at multiple locations to trace him, he added.
