Patna: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 12-year-old boy in Kishanganj district while she had gone to play outside her home on Sunday. The accused allegedly lured her to his house on the pretext of giving biscuits. When the girl did not return home for a long time, the family started a search. Later, the family found the girl in the neighbourhood and noticed injuries to her private parts. She was taken to a hospital immediately. Doctors, after examination, informed the family about the sexual assault. The family then informed the police. The accused minor has been detained for questioning, police said.According to the girl’s father, the incident occurred when he had gone out for work while his wife was busy with household chores.“At around 9am, the girl went outside to play. Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy from the neighbourhood allegedly approached her and asked her to accompany him to his house, telling her that he had different varieties of biscuits there,” the father alleged.The girl allegedly went with him. When she did not return for nearly an hour, her mother began searching for her and asked neighbours about her whereabouts. She was subsequently informed that the child was at the accused boy’s house.The girl’s mother went there and found her daughter coming out of the house along with the boy. She brought the child home, initially unaware of what had allegedly happened.After returning home, the family noticed that the girl was bleeding. Her mother immediately informed her husband, who rushed home and took the child to a hospital.The father alleged, “The boy warned the girl against telling anyone about the incident. We informed the police about the incident after reaching the hospital.”Police detained the boy for questioning and medical examinations of both children were conducted, while the girl is undergoing treatment.The SHO said the girl’s condition is currently stable. Further action would be taken on the basis of the medical examination report and the ongoing investigation, he said.He said, “An FIR has been registered based on the girl’s statement and other evidence collected during the investigation and the case will be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of the juvenile justice law.”
