TNNNew Delhi: Public Works Department minister Parvesh Verma on Saturday conducted on-ground inspection of key arterial roads and vulnerable stretches across south Delhi to assess preparedness for the monsoon season. The visit, carried out under the “Government on Wheels” initiative, saw the minister travel across multiple locations alongside senior officials from various departments. The inspection covered major junctions and stretches, including Moolchand Crossing, AIIMS Crossing, the Chattarpur Metro corridor, Nelson Mandela Marg, Munirka Flyover, Vivekanand Marg and BJ Marg, along with several underpasses identified as monsoon-sensitive points.Officials said the focus remained on identifying gaps that could lead to waterlogging and traffic disruption during heavy rainfall.Particular emphasis was placed on low-lying areas and underpasses, which are prone to flooding even during short spells of intense rain. Officials have been instructed to ensure these stretches remain fully operational during peak monsoon conditions, the minister said.
