Pune: Jharkhand governor Santosh Gangwar said the true value of receiving graduation degrees extended beyond personal achievement, highlighting the importance of sensitivity towards others and a willingness to uplift those in need.Gangwar was speaking at the 15th convocation ceremony held on Saturday at The Pune Institute of Business Management (PIBM). He addressed the graduating class and urged them to embrace their roles as duty-prone citizens and actively contribute to nation-building for the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.The event was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP and former chairperson of the National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma.“You have set a benchmark, and the certificates represent an undertaking to strengthen society. Graduates should maintain clear thinking and make decisions that positively influence others, seeing their strengths as the future of the nation,” Gangwar said.Raman Preet, chairman & executive director of PIBM Group of Institutes, reflected on the institute’s journey since its establishment in 2007. “Soon, we are going to be a digital university. We are working tirelessly towards this aim to make it a world-class university,” he said.He underscored the importance of risk-taking ability and moving beyond one’s comfort zone as keys to success.Sharma, while addressing the students, emphasised the importance of time management and maintaining a work-life balance. She advised the graduates to dedicate time to their families. Sharma also encouraged persistence in the face of setbacks and urged them to dream big, aspiring to become job creators rather than mere job seekers, aligning with the govt’s support for startups. She also mentioned Mission Karmyogi as an avenue for civic service.In the MBA programme, Sakshi Pathak, Purbita Bhattacharya, and Hrutik Sakharkar secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively.
