KRISHNAGIRI: Some unidentified persons entered the TATA Electronics factory in the Vanniyapuram area next to Rayakottai in Krishnagiri district during the early hours of Saturday and attacked, tied up two night security guards. They also stole a gun the guard possessed, copper wires, other valuables.The guards were identified as Gulbir Ahmed, 42, from Bihar and K Saravanan, 40, from Ullakurukkai village near Kelamangalam. They were posted at a separate building inside the factory that handled AC-related work, including installing new ACs and servicing, where AC materials were stored.According to Uddanapalli police, people passing by in the early morning saw the guards tied up with ropes. “They removed the ropes, rescued them and informed the Uddanapalli police station,” said P Thangadurai, Krishnagiri dist SP. Police rushed to the spot and began an intensive investigation.The Uddanapalli police examined CCTV cameras in the area and searched for the culprits.The factory employed more than 60,000 workers. The incident came amid an earlier case in which a hidden camera was placed in the toilet of a women’s hostel owned by a Tata Electronics factory, which caused a stir.The latest incident of guards being attacked and tied up, a gun being snatched and items being stolen also caused a stir.Uddanapalli police registered the case and initiated the inquiry.
