Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Israel and the United States over the killing of Iran’s spiritual leader, while also criticizing Muslim nations for their silence on the issue.
In a post on X, Mufti as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) described the day as a “deeply tragic and shameful point in history,” alleging that Israel and the US were “boasting” about the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
She expressed shock over what she termed the “explicit and implicit support” extended by Muslim countries, accusing them of choosing “convenience and expedience over conscience.
“History will stand testament to who fought for justice and who helped the oppressors,” the PDP president said in her post, as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
Offering her prayers to the people of Iran, Mufti said, “May Allah grant them strength and victory over forces of tyranny and injustice.” (KNS)
