Mangaluru: A Mega Bible Convention will be held at the open grounds of Holy Cross Church, Cordel, Kulshekar, from Feb 26 to March 1.Mangalore Diocese PRO Rev JB Saldanha said Monday that the convention, organised by Mangalore Diocese Charismatic Service Communion in association with Commission for Bible of the Diocese of Mangalore, will be held from 4pm to 8.30pm daily.He said Pope Leo XIV gave the theme ‘The Word of Christ dwells among you,’ taken from St Paul’s Letter to the Colossians, for the celebration of Word of God Sunday 2026. The convention will also follow the same theme.“The main thrust of this convention is to celebrate the Word of God that dwells among us. The convention has the mission to explain to people, in the light of the Bible, how God is accompanying them in their life’s struggles, joys and sorrows, and helps them to lead a life pleasing to God,” he said.Each day will feature an Eucharistic celebration, meditation on the Holy Rosary, in-depth talks on selected themes in Konkani and English, Bible passages, Eucharistic Adoration, praise and worship, and healing prayer. Eight priests will present the Word of God, and four priests will lead the Eucharistic adoration. Lay ministers will lead prayerful singing, praise and worship on all days, Rev Saldanha said.He added that nearly 10,000 people from the Diocese’s Dakshina Kannada, Kasaragod and Udupi districts are expected to attend the event, and preparations are underway for its successful organisation.
