Listen to the full conversation between Nectar Social’s Co-Founders Misbah and Farah Uraizee and Fashionista Associate Editor Catie Pusateri on The Fashionista Network on Spotify.

After collectively spending years in the tech space across major players like Meta, Microsoft, Google and X, sisters Misbah and Farah Uraizee had a front-row seat to the growing influence of brands’ online communities. The duo saw an opportunity to supply brands with AI-powered community management tools, so they quit their respective jobs in 2023 and dove headfirst into building Nectar Social. Today, the AI platform streamlines many top brands’ strategies, including E.l.f. Cosmetics, Rhode, Tower 28 and Steve Madden.

As an “all-up operating system for social,” as Misbah calls it, Nectar Social can interact with a brand’s online community via comment sections and direct messages, identify rising creators brands could be collaborating with, field customer support issues and more. For example, Kosas tapped Nectar Social to help unveil its category expansion into mascara with last year’s Soulgazer Mascara launch, as well as identify opportunities for future product launches the beauty brand wasn’t previously roadmapping. In practice, Nectar Social is a one-stop shop for modern social media management that helps eliminate “north of 70 hours a week per every few people,” according to Misbah.

Nectar Social also functions as a tool for emerging fashion and beauty brands: “If you’ve already figured out PMF [product-market fit], then Nectar is the best way to scale right now, where we’re helping you on the influencer side, we’re helping you unlock so much data on your competitors, we’re helping you keep your team lean so that as you scale as a business and you get more volume on these channels, you can do more with the existing set of platforms that you have access to,” Misbah said.

On The Fashionista Network, the duo discussed the agentic features that set Nectar Social’s platform apart, its brand onboarding process, the hallmarks of a successful social media strategy, how fashion and beauty brands can better leverage AI and more. Watch the full interview on YouTube below.
