Nagpur: The city police have bolstered medical care facilities for the over one lakh aspirants participating in the police recruitment drive, which commenced on Wednesday at the Police Line, Takli, grounds. Death of an aspirant in Beed district has prompted authorities across Maharashtra to heighten vigilance and preparedness during physical and endurance tests. The recruitment process is set to extend until the end of April.

The recruitment drive involves rigorous physical examinations that can pose candidates under stress. To prevent any untoward incidents and provide immediate medical intervention, the Nagpur police under CP Ravinder Singal, Jt CP Navinchandra Reddy and DCP (Headquarters) Deepak Aggrawal, have deployed comprehensive emergency facilities.Under supervision of medical superintendent Dr Sandeep Shinde of Nagpur City Police Hospital, a dedicated medical team comprising four doctors was stationed at the Police Hospital in Takli. Four ambulances are on standby, equipped with essential life-saving medicines, Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS), and other critical drugs to handle dehydration, heat-related illnesses, cardiac emergencies, or any sudden medical crises. “Also, beds have been reserved at major hospitals for any serious emergencies,” said Dr Shinde. Around 15 beds each were kept ready at Mayo Hospital and govt Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), while additional 40 beds have been allotted at the Police Hospital for recruitment-related cases. The recruitment process is being carried out with strict adherence to safety protocols,” senior police officials said and urged aspirants to stay hydrated, report any pre-existing conditions, and follow medical advice during the tests. They also assured that all necessary steps are being taken to conduct the drive smoothly.
