T’puram: Two youths were arrested with 93g of MDMA during an operation by Dansaf team near Kovalam Jn on Sunday. The arrested were Ananthakrishnan, 31, of Pangappara Puthiyidam, and Thomas Terry, 30, of Valiyaveli.The duo were allegedly transporting the synthetic drug in a car when the police team intercepted them between Kovalam Jn and Porode bridge.According to the police, the MDMA was concealed in the car’s fuel-filling compartment and inside a shoe. Ananthakrishnan had travelled by bus from Bengaluru to the Tamil Nadu border, from where Thomas allegedly picked him up in the car and brought him to Thiruvananthapuram.The police said the car had been obtained by Ananthakrishnan as a pledge. The drug was allegedly brought to the city for sale to a third person, said an exercise official.The accused were handed over to Kovalam Police for further probe.
