GURGAON: The MCG will roll out a month-long ‘Intensive Sanitation Drive’ from April 1 to April 30 across all zones, aiming to strengthen the city’s cleanliness system and eliminate garbage-vulnerable points (GVPs).As per directions issued by MCG commissioner Pradeep Dahiya, the campaign will focus on clearing GVPs, improving mechanised and manual road sweeping, and ensuring regular cleaning of internal roads, markets and public spaces. Proper disposal of horticulture waste will also be prioritised.Zonal responsibility has been assigned to senior officials for implementation and monitoring. Additional municipal commissioner Ankita Chaudhary will oversee Zone-1, additional commissioner Yash Jaluka Zone-2, additional commissioner Ravinder Yadav Zone-3, and joint commissioner Preetpal Singh Zone-4. They will be responsible for daily supervision, inspections and overall execution of sanitation work.All zones have been directed to submit weekly progress reports with ‘before and after’ photographs. The commissioner will also conduct surprise inspections to ensure accountability and quality of work.Officials have been asked to assess requirements for manpower, machinery and vehicles in advance. The civic body has also stressed participation from councillors, RWAs, market associations, NGOs and residents to ensure the campaign’s success.Dahiya said the drive aims to achieve visible, time-bound improvements in cleanliness across the city.
