Mangaluru: MCC commissioner Ravichandra Naik said that a notice has been issued to the enumerators who remained absent for the mandatory training programme being held as part of the Census 2027.The commissioner said 909 enumerators have been appointed under seven charge officers for the purpose of conducting the Census 2027 operation within the limits of Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC). Additionally, the self enumeration process will be held from Wednesday to April 15. Citizens have been facilitated to personally fill in their own information through the secure online portal (www.se.census.gov.in), he said.A mandatory training programme was organised for the enumerators, and it has come to notice that some enumerators remained absent from the training, citing unjustifiable reasons. Training is crucial for the successful implementation of the census operation, and such absences have been taken seriously. All concerned enumerators must be prepared to carry out their duties responsibly, the commissioner said. All charge officers have been instructed to ensure the attendance of the enumerators under their control, and submit the necessary report. In this context, a notice has been issued to the absent enumerators as per the Census Act, 1948, and the rules framed thereunder, he said.“Enumerators are strictly required to attend the next training session, and legal and disciplinary action will be taken against those who fail to comply.
