Mumbai: Medical aspirants in Maharashtra have been given three more days to register for MBBS and BDS admissions, with the state CET Cell extending the deadline from Aug 12 to 8 pm on Aug 15. The first seat allotment list will be declared on Aug 25.The extension follows a similar move by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota admissions. The state has consequently revised the schedule for the first round of the centralised admission process (CAP). So far, 33,949 candidates have registered for MBBS and BDS admissions.Under the revised schedule, candidates can pay the registration fee until 10pm on Aug 15 and upload scanned copies of their documents until 11.59 pm. Online document verification will continue until Aug 17. The provisional merit list will be released on Aug 18 and the final merit list on Aug 21.Candidates will be able to fill their college preferences between Aug 22 and 5.30 pm on Aug 24, followed by the first allotment on Aug 25.The CET Cell has cautioned students that uploading colour-scanned copies of all required original documents is mandatory. Candidates who fail to upload the relevant documents will not be considered for admission under the category claimed by them.There is some relief for OBC and SEBC candidates. They have been given up to six months from CAP registration to submit their caste validity certificates. PwD candidates will have to furnish an eligibility certificate issued by the designated medical board, while EWS candidates must produce a certificate valid for 2026-27.In another significant change this year, vacant CAP seats as well as institutional-level seats will be filled online by the CET Cell. Until last year, such seats were filled by individual colleges at the institutional level.NRI candidates, meanwhile, will be considered on merit only against the 15% institutional quota.
