India’s Maxivision Super Specialty Eye Hospitals, backed by healthcare-focused buyout firm Quadria Capital, has confidentially filed for an initial public offering, a newspaper advertisement showed on Friday.
Reuters had reported in July that the eye-care chain had appointed ICICI Securities and IIFL Capital as bankers for an IPO that would include a mix of newly issued shares and stock sold by existing investors.
India’s confidential filing mechanism allows companies to submit draft IPO papers to the market regulator without public disclosure, keeping financial and operational details private while seeking regulatory approval.
Founded in 1996, Maxivision operates more than 90 centres across six states, and competes with chains including Dr. Agarwal’s Health Care, Centre for Sight and ASG Eye Hospitals.
India’s eye-care market is projected to grow to $31.2 billion by 2033 from $12.8 billion in 2025, according to Grand View Research.
