Nagpur: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that institutions like Matru Sewa Sangh are still first choice of maternity care for people belonging to less financially secure backgrounds. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for a new training building on Akshaya Tritiya, Fadnavis assured the state would provide complete support for expansion of Matru Sewa Sangh.Highlighting legacy of founder Kamalabai Hospet, Fadnavis recounted how the institution was born out of struggle for dignity during the colonial era. “As Nursing Training Centre marks its centenary with a new facility, we pledge our support to the institution’s ongoing efforts. We are committed to shouldering our share of the centenary initiatives and will work to ensure these projects are completed on time,” he said.Mayor Neeta Thakre emphasized critical role of women in social development. She lauded the institution’s century-long journey from Nagpur to every corner of Maharashtra.
